For candidates

Five jobs boards, one candidate database

Each brand in FD Capital Group advertises its own roles, but every CV we receive goes into a single central database shared by the whole group. Register once, on whichever site suits you, and you are visible to all five teams. There is no need to submit your details to each of them.

Register once

Why one registration covers the whole group

FD Capital Group is made up of five specialist recruitment brands: FD Capital, Exec Capital, NED Capital, Accountancy Capital and SMF Capital. Each has its own website, its own jobs board and its own candidate registration form, because each focuses on a different tier of senior appointment and candidates naturally look for the site that matches their role.

Behind the scenes, though, all five brands work from the same candidate database. A CV uploaded through the registration form on any of the five sites lands in one shared record, and that record is searchable by every consultant in the group. When FD Capital runs a fractional CFO search, it searches the whole database. When NED Capital looks for a chair with finance experience, or SMF Capital needs a compliance officer who has worked at a payments firm, they search the same pool. Today that pool holds around 10,000 senior finance, leadership, governance and regulatory professionals.

So you only need to register once. Pick the brand closest to the work you do, upload your CV and tell us what you are looking for. Submitting the same CV to all five sites does not improve your chances and can create duplicate records that take longer to keep up to date. If you have already registered on more than one site, there is no harm done; just let us know and we will make sure we keep a single, current record for you.

Not sure which to choose?

Register with the brand closest to your current or target role. If your experience spans several, such as a CFO who also wants non-executive work, one registration is still enough: say so in the form and every relevant team will see it.

Which brand?

Matching your experience to the right team

The brands have clear lines between them, so you can tell at a glance which jobs board will carry the most relevant roles.

Finance leadership

CFOs, Finance Directors and Heads of Finance, including those working fractionally across several businesses, should start with FD Capital. Fractional and interim roles are often filled within days, so a registration that already sets out your day rate and availability puts you in a strong position.

The wider C-suite

Chief executives, operations, technology, marketing and sales leaders belong with Exec Capital, which also handles executive appointments at regulated firms such as SMF1 chief executives and SMF3 executive directors.

Board and governance roles

If you are looking for a first or additional non-executive seat, a chair role or a trustee position, NED Capital is the natural home. Many NED candidates are serving or former executives, and the shared database means your executive experience is visible to the other brands as well.

Qualified finance and tax

Financial Controllers, Finance Managers, Management Accountants and tax specialists should look at Accountancy Capital, which runs the group’s tax recruitment practice and covers practice and in-house tax roles.

FCA-regulated senior managers

Compliance officers, MLROs, chief risk officers and anyone holding or aiming for a Senior Manager Function should register with SMF Capital. You can check the functions you are currently approved for on the FCA Financial Services Register before you apply.

How it works

What happens after you register

  1. Your CV joins the shared databaseWhichever site you use, your CV and details are added to the group’s central candidate database, tagged with the brand you registered through and the roles you are interested in.
  2. Every brand can find youConsultants across all five brands search the same database when a new brief comes in, so a single registration puts you in front of finance, executive, board, qualified finance and regulatory searches alike.
  3. We contact you before anything is sharedWe never send your CV to a client without speaking to you first and agreeing that you want to be considered for that specific role. Many of our roles are confidential and are never advertised.
  4. You hear about relevant rolesRegistered candidates can receive our regular candidate newsletter, which lists current roles across the group, so you see vacancies from all five jobs boards in one place.
  5. You keep your record currentWhen your availability, day rate or salary expectations change, tell us once and the update applies across the whole group.
Getting the most from it

Making your registration work harder

Because one record serves five specialist teams, the detail you give us matters more than the number of forms you complete. A few things make a real difference to how often your profile comes up in searches:

  • Say how you want to work. Tell us whether you are open to permanent, interim, fractional or non-executive roles, or a mix. Fractional and interim searches move quickly, and candidates who have already set out their availability are usually the first to be called.
  • Give us your rate or salary range. A realistic day rate or salary expectation lets us match you to the right briefs straight away rather than after a first call.
  • Include your regulatory history. If you hold or have held FCA approval, list the functions and firms. For senior manager roles it is one of the first things a client asks about.
  • Name your sectors. Private equity backing, regulated financial services, technology, manufacturing and the public sector all attract specialist searches, and sector experience is often what separates a shortlist.
  • Keep your CV up to date. Send us a new version when you change role or finish an engagement. We replace the old CV rather than adding another record.

If you are early in a move and want a sense of the market first, the brand sites publish salary guides and day-rate benchmarks, and Accountancy Capital has guidance on writing an accountancy CV. The ICAEW and other professional bodies also offer career resources for their members.

Your data

How we look after your details

Holding your information in one place, rather than five, is better for you as well as for us. There is one record to keep accurate, one place to update and one place to remove if you no longer want to hear from us. We use your details only to consider you for roles and to send you information about vacancies, and we handle them in line with UK data protection law.

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it or have it deleted at any time by contacting any of the brands or the group directly; a single request covers every brand. The Information Commissioner’s Office explains your rights over your personal data in more detail.

FAQ

Questions about registering

Do I need to register on every brand’s website?

No. All five brands share a single central candidate database, so registering on one site makes you visible to every consultant in the group. Registering on several sites adds nothing and can create duplicate records.

I have already registered on more than one site. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Let us know and we will make sure we keep one current record for you, with your latest CV and preferences.

Which site should I register on?

The one closest to your current or target role: FD Capital for CFOs and Finance Directors, Exec Capital for the wider C-suite, NED Capital for board roles, Accountancy Capital for qualified finance and tax, and SMF Capital for FCA senior managers. It makes no difference to which roles you can be considered for.

Will my CV be sent to employers without my permission?

No. We always speak to you first and only put your details forward for a specific role you have agreed to be considered for.

Can I apply for a role advertised by a different brand from the one I registered with?

Yes. Apply through the advert on any jobs board. If you are already registered, mention it in your application and we will link it to your existing record.

Do you advertise every role you work on?

No. Many senior searches are confidential and are filled from the database without ever being advertised, which is one of the main reasons to register even if nothing on the jobs boards fits today.

How do I update or remove my details?

Contact any of the brands or the group. One request updates or removes your record across all five brands.
